Melany Palacios, MNT, FDN-P, Certified Gluten Practitioner
Live Well Love Food is exactly that – Loving good healthy food in order to live well.
Live Well Love Food grew out of my passion to learn how food can unlock the key to high quality health and vitality. Many centuries ago Hippocrates said: “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.” As a certified nutritionist I can help you identify the foods that are right for your unique body, which will ultimately improve your health and well-being.
I’ve always had a passion for knowing how the body works and how we can ultimately care for our body using nutrition. Because of this passion for nutrition and because of my experiences in trying to improve my own health, I realized I had to learn more. I went back to school to pursue a Master Nutrition Therapist degree from Nutrition Therapy Institute in Denver, Colorado. Because of my love of learning and wanting to know more I subsequently received my certification as a Functional Diagnostic Practitioner as well as a Certified Gluten Free Practitioner.
In addition, I’ve learned that flexibility and information are key to vibrant living in the 21st Century. I am not going to be a drill sergeant or your mother. I won’t make you feel guilty if you eat a cookie or demand you drop and give me five if you skip a workout. I won’t ask you to do anything I haven’t done, and I won’t expect you to blindly accept everything I suggest. I don’t expect you to change your whole personality, give up all the foods you love, and become a perfect clone. I want to work with you to help you become the unique individual you want to be.
What is Functional Diagnostic Nutrition?
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition is a process where I, as the FDN practitioner, and you as the client work together to identify the underlying cause of health issues. We use detailed questionnaires and functional lab testing to identify malfunctions and healing opportunities. I don’t use prescription medications; instead I use natural therapies along with a self-care protocol so you can begin a journey to balance and good health. Education is also a large part of the program; through education you’ll gain an understanding of the root causes of health issues and how my protocols assist in healing.
What is a Certified Gluten Practitioner?
A Gluten Practitioner, through lab analysis and other applied skills, assesses clients for gluten sensitivity and celiac disease, and counsels clients in addressing associated conditions through diet. In 2016, I earned a certificate as a Gluten Practitioner and have worked with clients to manage gluten-related conditions.
